My good friend and artist Cubs the Poet hand-painted these Carhartt pants for me in exchange for some graphic design and website work. I gave him very little direction beyond a color palette, leaving the rest entirely up to his interpretation. He later expressed that he wasn't particularly happy with the back, but that's actually one of my favorite things about them. Both sides feel completely different, reflecting an artist working freely without much expectation or pressure. I love the spontaneity of the markings and the fact that they weren't overly considered or refined. A one-of-a-kind piece that captures his creative expression at a particular moment, and a reminder of a collaboration between friends.
