Designed this matchbook as one of three concepts created for Pattula, KREWE’s courtyard café and restaurant at their New Orleans flagship. I’ve always appreciated the design of a good matchbook. They’re small, functional objects that often become souvenirs without intending to. This concept paired a metallic silver cover with simple typography and an interior illustration alongside the phrase, “TAKE A BREATHER.” It was part of a broader branding system developed for the restaurant and is a nice reminder that even the smallest printed pieces deserve the same level of attention as everything else.
